I agree with you 100%. The fundamental issue we are facing , which is both a blessing and a curse, is that we need significantly fewer workers than full employment to provide everyone in this country with a very nice lifestyle. IMO that's why the unemployment rate remains high, and why so many are dropping out of the workforce.

In the 1950's through the early 1980's, employment was high as we provided everyone with more cars and appliances than ever before, bigger houses, and near universal AC in warm climates. The, we spent the next 30 or so bring the PC, internet and cellphone revolution to everyone. What's next? We need something big and bold. It will happen, just when we least expect it.
