Well, you have to ask yourself whether a global conspiracy exists to tax people more to implement green energy or does the science really exist? The simpler explanation is the latter.

This debate reminds me a lot of the debates I had with Evangelists when I was younger over whether Evolution was real science or some global conspiracy to destroy religion. You can imagine that I thought the Evangelists were a little nuts. When scientists form a global consensus like they have on climate change, I tend to believe in the probabilities. I'll change my mind when they do.

The truth is that this debate though is like the religious one over Evolution. You can't really change anyone's mind on it. So not sure there's really a point to the debate.
