How does one post here without responding to someone
else's message (and inheriting their subject line)?

ORCL may have hit a speed bump, but unless the
market seriously corrects (and if it does we
will all fall with the tide) then you KNOW it's
going back up. Why?

(1) Money managers only have so many relatively
solid, brand name companies they can put
money in. This does not make Oracle fundamentally
unsound - they are just being hit by the same
Asian currency problems that many multinationals
will be hit by. And ORCL is the database market.
People will continue to need more databases.

(2) In this short term market, all is forgiven. It may
take till January, it may take until ORCL Q4, but
it will happen. Those of us in low (22 15/16, yay!)
will be rewarded for our patience. But it won't
likely come back this year because of

(3) Window dressing! What mutual fund manager wants to
send out his quarterly report and show that ORCL
is on the list now! With only 15 days of trading
left I don't think that ORCL is likely to be
bought back in 1997. Big deal, I won't be needing
the money immediately on December 30, 1997. I can
even wait until December 30, 1998 - or longer.

Forgive me for being an amateur investor, but doesn't this
all make sense?

Sam - Only God knows. Actually your forecast for the volume for the day wasn't all that bad.

If you have any of that stuff, I could really use it.
