I would be willing to upgrade to the lifetime membership to kill all ads, but how long will the site be around? Anyone?

What makes you think we are closing?

Mmm, i don't see right sidebar ads. Something tells me that since I won't be buying a membership before Dec 1, my ad package may change from what I now find tolerable. If it does, SI can kiss me goodbye. Not saying they care, just saying it would be equivalent to the ever changing facebook TOU and ad situation that caused me to leave there permanently 9 months ago. Ironically, leaving facebook has caused me to spend more time here. If I can eventually find value here again, I would certainly stay and invite others. However, if SI turns into an ever changing platform of more intrusive and unwanted (and unused) ads, I'm sure there will be another place I find to digitally socialize.

I was here before SI was cool, i was on facebook when myspace was number 1, as I abandoned myspace with the allowable customization of pages that took forever to load and some that would blast music from the time you clicked on their page.. So I seem to be one that is an early adopter, yet also an early dissenter. Guess we'll have to wait and see........
