Miles don't know where you are getting your data from but from a fundamental and technical position CS is a buy not sell. From 1987 to 1996 Sales per share has increased every year(avg 46.5%), and cash flow (47.5%), and earnings/share (45%) and book value/share (49.5%), constant tax rate, zero debt. and now all of a sudden the company is falling apart. What are you smoking?

Also increased R&D does not signify a company that is running faster to stay in place. Where did you get that idea from?

Where did you get figure for inventory to sales ratio, what is it and why is it bad?

Better listen to your "pig headed portfolio manager" and give him a raise.
