Porter, thank-you for your reply.

I do have a strong consititution, a result of having survived 50%+ losses in the real estate meltdown, earlier this decade. I also have a strong contrarian bent and some confidence backed by a capital reserve (not unlimited). Since I am not exclusively a trader, having large positions in companies for which there are no options and which I plan to hold indefinitely, the psychology of the trader is fascinating to me. I see that although I have learned quite a lot since I discovered options, about a year ago and have had some success (up until my gold co. stks), I still have a lot to learn.

I will be following this thread with great interest. Thanks again for your time and effort.
