I thought about that statement of yours but never got a chance to mention it. Under the capitalist system the country is not wealthy; it has wealthy citizens. As such, the statement is false.

I am sure you can list a litany of corporate welfare and government waste to "justify" your favorite government expenditure. I'd rather see a focus on reduction of those wastes. However, I don't see why the government should not be allowed to run a for profit business (however small the profit) and use the market system to keep the corporations in check.
