There are many, many ways to communicate with and energize a community that cost nothing, since they now own the servers and the software. And no reason to wait almost a year to get them going.

Either this bunch just doesn't have much of a business plan, or there are other machinations going on. I will wait for actual information and developments to see which side looks more plausible.

I have a 20-something nephew who does community relations for a Web site on video gaming. I see a lot of what he does in social media. Costs nothing except his negligible salary but it reaches out to their members and potential members in a real way.
