It has been interesting reading the views of several new contributors to this thread. I am sure many of you are aware of my previous posts and lack of enthusiasm for ORCL's technology. However money is money and it does appear that this is a good time to aquire a position. However, for the poll takers my trigger point is 16 3/4. Why?

* Multiple downgrades leading the sheep to hold their money.

* Fools that will liquidate their holdings in order to buy the GI Joe with Kung Fu grip.

* Great odds that Larry's ego will be in full force now and will turn off potential sheep.

* There is not enough money in the pool of SI wolves to pull this stock up.

* Just try and buy an NC for $299 that is worth anything. If you want something substantial you have to buy 2 of them for $4999. This does not seem price competitive with a PC or Mac.

* Read the tech threads and find out about how unimpressive Oracle 8 is in real life. Sorry... just not enough market for huge databases to show off the features that have been improved.

* Other $1B dollar companes in this sector have proven that you can fall further. Althoough recovery is also possible.

Just my thoughts to add... syborg

The salespeople are ALL looking for new jobs! I got a good friend who is a headhunter for sales folks in NYC. She mentioned that she has been "flooded" with resumes from Oracle Sales folks.

Needless to say, this is NOT a good sign. When the salesman does not think "just making his/her annual quota" is attainable...thats the time to start looking. Simply put, sales types do not wait for the corporate P.R. statements. They are in the trenches and THEY KNOW before anybody else...when things won't add up. They will know even before the VP of sales will know.

"I want to shoot ..."
You shouldn't blame them. You should do your own
home work and know what price to pay for. I bought
ASND at the first dip $32 and sold 38. Bought PAIR
at 21 and sold before earning release $30. This is
the good time to pick some good stocks at low price
while people panic.
