Where is that surplus and the supportive evidence?

I see perhaps a reduction in the deficit for the US, I do not see a balanced budget yet alone a surplus.

Perhaps I am missing something. In Canada we will have a surplus, likely this year but not in the US. If that is what the politicians are saying I believe we must demand proof. Canada is way ahead in their deficit reduction plan. The Canadian gov't will be able to buy up their own securites with ease. There will be great demand for corporate securities in Canada as the market supply of debt instruements dwindles.

I would venture to guesstimate that in the US, by buying up their own securities this will lead to inflation. Where will they get the money to do this. Are the printing presses going full bore?

Some are saying that the US is buying up their own securities to bail out the Asians, primarily the Japanese.

The Japanese have no concrete plan to get themselves out of their dilemna. If they do, what is it?

The Japanese are in big trouble mainly due to their inflated real estate prices and this is causing a crisis in that with the drop in valuations their banks are being squeezed holding a bunch of devalued assets perhaps below loan value.

Who is going to bail out the world with all their problems, the US. And who will bail out the US when they have given away all of those assets to the other countries. Is everything so rosy in the homeland. Are all the mothers and children getting fed? Are all the homless being cared for? The US unemployment rate is the lowest in many decades but does that mean everyone has a job? What about the countless people that have given up looking for work, those in the slums?

Who is going to provide for those people? Or better still give them the tools to deal with this unsatisfactory situation. Is there any wonder crime is becoming more violent and social decay is setting in?

Good luck to all.

Gene
