NIWA is a political not a scientific organisation. They are true believers in environmental dogma. It is not surprising that they can get a judge to protect the political position. <But Justice Forrest Miller ruled that the Trust was “mounting a crusade against NIWA and was not acting reasonably,” according to a report on Radio New Zealand.>

In my areas of expertise, I have found NIWA to be political, not scientific. If they are crooks in one area, they'll be crooks in another. Check out their absurd claims about how many NZers die early from particulate emissions from vehicles for example. They see that as a major problem.

The are true believer alarmists in human CO2 Global Warming.

NIWA has a weather station in Khyber Pass which is pretty much up the exhaust pipes of the vehicles on Khyber Pass and on the southern motorway which is immediately west of them [with prevailing westerlies]. Count the cars over the period they have been reporting data from that station. NIWA here: niwa.co.nz Their weather stations should be listed there somewhere.

As taxpayer, I'm in favour of a crusade against NIWA too. Science is good, dogma is not.
