Pegasus unveiled!!!(at least a little). FreDE get your tools and head to CA pronto. JR's earlier posts for review of Pegasus pathfinder.com If all goes well, by this time next year these sophisticated devices, a million of which are being built by S-A, Pioneer and Toshiba over the next three years, will be in homes serving up enough conventional analog and digital channels to compete directly with DBS. So Toshiba is one of three suppliers. SFA and Pioneer are the other two. I'd assume the boxes would be all the same, so SFA and Pioneer will also need an MPEG decoder. I was a little worried that that Sparc chip would do the MPEG work, but that worry is gone now. Would each OEM be able to pick their silicon vendor?
