Mr. Rogers? I think he is very nurturing, and I agree with you that the pace of his show is sure slow!!!!!!!!! When I did watch it occasionally I found it very boring, though. It's just one of those things where even though it is very obvious what is good for people, they are attracted to more excitement. I sort of think of Mr. Rogers as like eating all my vegetables. Of course, I am not two yeares old anymore. I think very young children respond to his ability to make them feel very calm and secure, and there is a lot of good in that. I think most children are very stressed these days!!!

I actually think that the internet may be good in the sense of reinforcing in-depth thinking. When all you have to use are words, and there are very intelligent people challenging most of them, it creates a very intellectual atmosphere.

Hey, Del, it looks like the San Francisco area might be a very good place to practice long-distance swimming skills, if global warming actually causes all the flooding that is predicted in this article:

According to these predictions, my alma mater, U.C. Davis, which I recall as very hot and dry, flat farmland and quite a bit inland, I might note, will be just a quick bike ride from the beach!!! I guess this is what some people are talking about when they refer to the BENEFITS of global warming!!!
