Bob,

I got the feeling that NSM are going to primarily make the chips in-house. One of the advantages is that they can optimize the design to their own inhouse process. This should over time allow to NSM to narrow the clock speed gap behind Intel.

Also, when NSM gets the South Portland fab going, with TSMC, Chartered and Tower on deck, IBM will either have to lower wafer prices or offer something (like the copper technology in order to keep Cyrix's business.

To all,

Intel sees Web driving Pentium II

news.com

.... In a preview presentation, Whittier demonstrated services that he said show how businesses can take greater advantage of the Pentium II's power, including a program that lets consumers create their own clothing fashions on computer, and a Ticketron application for buying tickets online. Whittier also said these capabilities would boost interactive advertising over the Internet, providing a fresh experience, "rich, with lots of animation, video and interactivity."

The executive said sites would be constructed so Web users who do not have Pentium II machines would be able to see the same advertising in less flashy versions.

I don't know what these people are smoking, but I would like to have some of it. Considering the reality of over 35% slide from 52 week high, I would prefer hallucinations these people are having.

Am I the only one who still gets alergic reactions to the word interactivity?

Oh, yeah, I am going to buy T1 line and a P-II in order to view ads online that are "rich, with lots of animation, video and interactivity."

I have a better idea for Intel. Better porn online. People will always pay for sex.
