I hope they can fix healthcare in general as well, but fundamentally, cost control must be addressed. Too bad a large fraction of the stimulus spending in the last recession didn't go towards fundamental research on addressing this, but then, research isn't what they like to spend stimulus $ on.

I'd still rather have IBM's Watson for my Doc then a real Doc. The technology is already essentially here, but deployment is held back by vested interests and public distrust. We need a Manhattan Project for robot surgeons, again, something which is close, but held back by vested interests and public distrust.
