what you're really seeing, of that light that was emited millions of years ago, is like looking at a photograph, or video. A realtime, streaming video of the past. Watching a Buster Keeton flick doesn't exactly take us back in time, except in a figurative sense.

If somewhere in the middle our own light was reflected back to us, we would be watching a "video" of Earth's past. Yes?
