Greenspirit,

If I were in managements position, I would put the verbiage in the terms of use for new sign ups immediately. And publish new terms of usage for those like me who have been around a long time to agree with them.

Yes. I couldn't agree more.

I know SI has started a thread on which people can comment about various features, but why not have a survey for us to comment on specific changes.

My concern is not the ads but the privacy. I don't understand why I can't be guaranteed a secure site to post on just because I came to the party to early. I think they would get a lot of support from the "50s" if they valued us as they do their paid subscribers. It would be nice if they got a diverse group of people (moderators maybe) and survey us regarding ways to make the threads better, weed out the professional spammers and bashers, etc. and get back to real dialogue among like-minded people.

I think SI Dave would be the perfect person to spearhead this. I haven't heard one complaint about him anywhere.

I do hope SI reads this board and thinks about my idea or something like it.

Lastly, I want a new photo for the "50s" because I don't look good in a chain mail suit of armor. I had the first computer ever in my classroom. It was a Control Data Plato system. This is NOT me in the pic.

Can anyone go further back than that? My cousin went to work for IBM when they were called Electronic Machines.

I think this pic would make us look like the pioneers (not veterans) of the web that we are.
