That is interesting, on several fronts. First, I had no idea there are forests in New Jersey. No doubt overly influenced by media, I had always pictured NJ as strictly urban or suburban, with no wild areas at all except for a few swamps.

I also found this sentence amusing for some reason.

The U.S. Drought Monitor does not have a category for "minor drought."

I guess you'll have to do your part by sticking to drinking alcohol rather than water from now on.

We just had an intense weather swing here in Vancouver, from warm and very wet to clear and cold in a few hours. As I prefer the former to the latter, it's a good thing I am heading down to San Diego for my father's 80th birthday tomorrow. Here's hoping it will be back to warm and wet by the time I return on Sunday night.
