I dunno, I always liked that Goodwill hired the unemployable. So their mission is to give people a second chance rather than give handouts. I like that they hire those who have recently been released from incarceration. The hardest part of rehabilitation is that nobody wants to hire an ex-con. And many ex-cons have no idea how to dress or act in ways that makes them candidates for employment. Goodwill helps them build their resumes and helps them learn how to get their next job.

Our MissionGoodwill works to enhance the dignity and quality of life of individuals and families by strengthening communities, eliminating barriers to opportunity, and helping people in need reach their full potential through learning and the power of work.

Goodwill Industries International is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Back when I was in the Army they took 10% out of my pay for the United Way. Didn't ask, just took.

When I had a business the UW would tell me how much my business would give.

Local mission is sending me mail that I haven't donated since 2006. They forgot the $1,200 I have given during that time.
