Interesting approach to lower spending re health care.. Cnx 100 million policies and eliminate the ability to access new ones by raising costs and removing doctors.

Genius ..

And your survey was conducted by that trusted source :

Per capita spending has grown at a rate of 1.3% since 2010, the lowest recorded rate for any three-year period on record, according to the report, which was conducted by the White House Council of Economic Advisers.

before and since passage of obamacare huge numbers of people lost their jobs, and that means a lot of them had to decide whether to pay out of pocket or not use the medical system. that explains a lot of the slower rise in medical care spending.

if the medical system were based on consumer choice of insurance and their own out of pocket expenses rather than having an employer or the government pay for them, medical spending would go down much more. this is due to competition, consumers knowing what actual care costs are, value decisions made each time a consumer decides about each personal medical situation.

From that article:
---------------------
“One key area in which the law helped drive costs down, the report said, are the provisions that allow Medicare to reduce overpayments to providers and health plans. Another factor, Furman said, are fines for hospitals that readmit Medicare patients within 30 days of their release and the increased use of accountable care organizations.”

Yes, goes right to the heart of the ACA. It’s been a huge controversy. Good insight.
