I sell houses (22 years) and every house I sell has an engineer's inspection, so I also end up being a sub contractor to get the Recommended repairs fixed. So I deal with trades people every day and am one myself to some degree. Before, after, during, that is not the point. The point is, they need for all people to get as much education as possible so they can live a fuller life.

I believe everyone can benefit from education, formal or self taught does not matter. It is the development of the mind I am advocating. I know for a fact that 95% of the people in this country are greatly undereducated.

We have the science to prove what is involved in intellectual development and how important it is to "higher order thinking".

Look up "knowledge directed perception". It is a real simple concept. What it says is one cannot understand what they do not know; and the more they learn the wider their intellectual vision and the more abstraction they can handle.

No one does better without education. And I don't even like the wording getting and education. There is no getting an education. Education is a lifelong experience. One cannot learn all they need to know at any time in their life, unless they are willing to be more ignorant than they need be.

And certainly too many feel they have had enough. I feel sorry for those people as they miss some of life's greatest wonders because they have not learned enough to appreciate them.
