Well for me, truth and transparency is always most important. I'll be the first to admit that Obama had me at hello with all his great speeches in that first election. I was so disgusted with Bush Jr not living up to his father's mettle that I was ready for "Hope and Change". But as they say, the 99% only have a little change left in their pockets and not much hope. So as the facts change on the ground, I change my opinion of people. Obama sold us a bill of goods, me included. Just like I wasn't afraid to hold Bush Jr accountable for his failures, I am doing exactly the same with Obama. On the Obama thread, they don't like dissent of any kind. So you get banned.

Here it seems we can have a free for all, uncensored. As you can see, no one here much likes my opinions on climate change. LOL. But a good many agree on the negative outcomes associated with fiscal and monetary profligacy. Dems haven't come around to that, though. They are still so loyal to party and not to common sense. Many GOP members are much the same. Libertarians tend to be a bit more free thinking. Ron Paul's a good example of that. For example, he'll flat out say he thinks homosexuality is immoral, but that the government shouldn't prohibit gay marriage. Most will say he's being hypocritical. I think his way of thinking is liberating. Regardless of your religious opinion on homosexuality, it's not for our government to get involved in that kind of thing. Our government should be limited to doing the things they are chartered to do by our Constitution, which includes making laws, regulation, policing, and protecting us from foreign invaders. But when they venture into religion, social engineering, currency manipulation, takeover or subsidization of private enterprise, or central economic planning, that's when they are taking a step too far and they usually screw things up royally.
