Yeah, but he says in his biography I read by Walter Issacson that he learned much from a university he attended that taught students to think in pictures/mental images. Thought experiments. One of the things I figured out when young was that we do not deduce much. We learn. For all Einstein's brilliance he knew all the physics of the time and he studied tirelessly. And if he had not discovered relativity someone else would have. In fact another guy did, but he said it was due to stuff Einstein's writings, so he graciously gave credit to Einstein. Still, someone would have gotten it soon. The time was ripe and lots of smart guys out there in those days. Probably now as well.
