The more radical the appointment the more necessary a filibuster. Now we will see Obama bring the most disgusting appointments forward.

This comment from Huffpost after the filibuster changes in the Senate says it all...

>>"The American people twice voted for a Democratic President, a Democratic Senate and voted 1.5 million more times for Democrats in the House. This is part of the agenda the majority of Americans want and voted for:

-JOBS bills!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-Jobs bills and more care for our Veterans and their families

-Health Care for 9-11 First Responders

-Investment in our crumbling infrastructure

-Investment in our crumbling education system

-The Affordable Care Act and health care for all

-90% wanted the Manchin-Toomey Universal Background Checks

-The Violence Against Women Act & Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act

-The repeal of DADT, an end to DOMA

—All of which the McConnell-led-Senate GOPTea’s blocked or voted against in their 400+ filibusters since January 2009.

And in total contradiction to the Paul Ryan budget, and according to any poll you’d care to look up, the majority of Americans want:

-Expansion of Social Security, not “privatization” (i.e. abolishment)

-Preservation of Medicare, not “voucherizing” (i.e. abolishment)

-Funding of Medicaid, not defunding (i.e. abolishment)

-The raising of taxes on the 2% that have been enjoying their lowest tax rate in 60 years.

-For multi-million dollar corporations to start PAYING taxes

-An end to corporate subsidies and an end to corporate loopholes

-An end to the Afghan War

-Cuts in the annual trillion+ dollar MIC budget

—None of which the McConnell-led-GOPTea’s are for since every single GOPTea in congress voted for the Paul Ryan budget that outlines most of these points.

So Senator Reid did the right thing. He took back the will of the majority of the American people by un-shackling us from the tyranny of the GOPTea minority in the Senate.

The Senate can now pass legislation and judicial appointments and restart our stalled Democracy—but—until we vote-out the House GOPTea majority, much of that legislation will be obstructed or not permitted to come to a vote by Speaker Boehner—like Immigration Reform.

We the people know what we have to do and everyone I know is champing at the bit to do it in all upcoming elections."<<
