I guess you can argue there is a correlation between growing disparity and a shrinking middle class.

At the same time I can argue there is a correlation between growth in nonproductive government and a shrinking middle class.

Now which is the stronger case? Why?

a) People becoming extremely wealthy due to extreme success kills the middle class; or

b) More money moving into to nonproductive activity kills the middle class?
