This was the popular theory by all the "Emerging Market" proponents - and now look at the mess in ASIA!

Personally, I would invest only where I can "see" my money. Invessting in many foreign countries is a crap shoot. The governments in many of these countries aren't stable - so how can you feel confident in an investment in those countries?

There are many, many excellent investment opportunities in the U.S. Why would you avoid/neglect these in favor for unseen/unknown companies in far-off lands?

Yes - Qualcomm, AMAT, Ciena, PRIA, Cisco, MRVC.
