millions of people side with democrats only because republicans press on social issues

I believe it was Barbara Bush, who said - a generation ago - that abortion doesn't belong on any of the political parties' platforms. Couldn't agree more. It's not like the hair blown morons we call politicians have already solved all other problems. When the press keeps pushing such questions, they are simply creating a deliberate trap. Fools fall into them.

...millions of people side with democrats only because republicans press on social issues........ If republicans officially move to the center on social issues - those democrats will be in play.

Republicans are pressing for abortion and gay marriage? I think not. I think you mean when the republicans compromise (surrender) and AGREE with the democrats on social issues, some "independents" might come to them on fiscal issues.

Same for the media. If republican party moves to the center on social issues - they would get some of the MSM on their side. And that itself will bring millions of voters.

IMO, that's right out of LALALAND. The MSM are stone liberals and despise the republicans and their platforms.

You can have the final word if you wish, but I see already that neither of us will ever see the other side.

I've been listening to the liberal MSM and libers say EXACTLY what you are saying for almost 50 years. It's nothing new, and it never works. (for republicans)

How come the democrats are never advised to ignore their base and keep away from fringe issues?

Why is FOX bad but MSNBC good?
