No, the Indian poster on FB wrote that in, my response was evolution was something intuited back by Classical thinkers, not really something new. Sort of a self evident thing that had to wait to be fleshed out much later for some obvious reasons, like heliocentered solar system that upset some ties of accepted thinking. Children looking at a map of the world 250yrs ago could see a fit of Africa to South America almost instantly, but took till 1960s to verify plate tectonics & drifting continents? Pretty big deal & one of the most elegant discoveries in geology in the last century, but children could see just like that.

Thats the way we humans are, look anywhere but the obvious, caught up in vanity.
