"The red states are working together to bring this president down."

We can only pray that they succeed.

Koan,
Are you kidding? The red states are working together to bring this president down.
First of all, when you said "you folks," you obviously included me since that post was addressed to me. But I don't live in a "red state" and I never did.

Second, there are many "blue state conservatives" just like me, just like there are many "red state liberals" such as Combjelly and Alighieri.

Third, there are always people in politics trying to bring the incumbents down. When Bush was president, the Democrats from day one were conspiring to bring him down, even challenging the legitimacy of the election. You can't claim with a straight face that partisan politics began with the GOP. Or the Tea Party for that matter.

Lastly, what is tearing this nation apart is this "us vs. them" mentality. Rather than arguing for or against ideas, you start demagoguing the "other side." That means you cannot defend your own beliefs and thus need to resort to creating boogeymen to advance your agenda.
