Taylor,
Welcome back. The markets are however not exclusively driven by level headed science and I think that far too much attention is spent on hype or fact. The reality is that this company has made tremendous progress when you consider their position one year ago and that is not hype. The building of a company is what we are looking at and serendipity comes from hard work and not from luck. Dr.Faris for all his faults has IMHO not encouraged this Hype this time around I can not say the same for Millenium but that is their job. I for one value, tremendously, Qdog's input and truly would value your input as well. As to what is Hype or not Hype I think we should leave that to the intelligence of the reader(we are all adults afterall) and not judge unless of course it involves Faris Bueller.

DrRisk for what it is worth

Both you and qdog have my utmost appreciation. Qdog has been consistent in his views and positions. He writes what he means, and has also been more than kind in sharing his experience with this thread considering some of the trash thrown his way.

It is a substantial benefit to the thread to have individuals such as qdog and yourself participating in the various discussions. How anyone who is a supporter/shareholder of aipn can view this differently is beyond my grey matter.

Greg

Its nice to hear from people with experience in the industry and to know these people are following this thread. Reading the thread over several weeks one could believe that there are only five or so people interested in AIPN, maybe one of whom actually knows anything about the industry and maybe another who actually knows - really knows - about trading for a living. Its unfortunate that these knowledgable people have stepped to the sidelines because their views are attacked. I, for one, hope they come back (although at least one response to Taylor Mill's posting certainly wasn't very welcoming [you know who you are]).
Could someone with true experience in the industry give some honest analysis of what it enatils going from where we are today to a JV, if such an analysis can be made? Is this something that typically takes 3 months, 1 year, 3 years? What are the hurdles which must be jumped before a major would sign a JV? Must the seismic data be in? Must wells be drilled? --thanks

Thanks Taylor. It's been trying at times. I too left for awhile, but decided to struggle on. Most moved on to AOL so we have had better discussions for awhile.

[Off topic]

Back in Decemeber when I first posed the question regarding Red Sea Oil (ASE:RSO;RDSEF) and their interim report of "oil shows" in Libya, I promised to update the status. RSO is halted today pending news, however Tomas, who has always been a source of accurate info., has posted this from Sweden:

Trading has been halted effective at the open on January 19 1998, pending an announcement. Sands and IPC up 15% in Sweden!

Beda + Zelten tested 5789 BOPD!! Beda 725, Lower Zelten 303, Upper Zelten 4761.

Message 3202362

Sands Petroleum (RSO JV 50% partner) is up 17% in Sweden, trading up 7,40 Swedish Krona today on extraordinary volume of 1.5 M shares.

I agree that many reports of "oil shows" during drilling are simply pump and dump hype, but you also have to take into account the companies management and what their track record is. The Lundin family scores pretty well in this regard.

FWIW

Alex
