I love the Wisdom and the Goodness that I find in every page of God's wonderful word! Moses was the "most humble man alive" but he certainly knew how to divide the spoils of genocide. The tricky part was knowing which ones were virgins and suitable for rape and pleasure...and then as "heave offerings" to Yahweh (yes, that loving and wonderful Yahweh who craved submissiveness and who loved the smell of burning flesh). Moses equipped all of his soldiers with a virginity testing device which they were all qualified to use. In this particular genocide (though they were greatly outnumbered) not a single one of these 12,000 wonderful soldiers was injured. Amazing how a moral existence acts to defend one from all harm! But all the adults and all the boys and girls except the virgins were butchered, because God really did father a lot of unwanted children. And God knew how to deal with imperfect kids. He really really did! Through the years, Yahweh's terse and wise comments have filtered down to us: Every child a wanted child. PRAISE GOD! Only virgins are suitable for "heave offerings" to Yahweh. Virgins are pure--just like real butter or buckwheat honey. Jesus was also a human sacrifice. But...again--a virgin. Animal sacrifices are pretty good for too much rain--or too little. Or too much sun-or too little. But only human sacrifice can prevent God from torturing you after you are dead. Powerful stuff...

Who could command such a thing? Who could obey such a command? Just imagine... Who (from a civilized culture) could praise such inhuman thoughts and barbaric actions? What a way to be murdered? Speak up if you are out there??? :-( I see all the Nims are folding their hands! Maybe there is hope!
