Sooner rather than later. <hong kong shall not be left behind in so far as mining is concerned, and i am wondering when and not if options and futures and swaps and other hypothecating derivatives premised on bit coin would dawn>

There is a major paradigm shift happening as we speak. The olde style nation-states descended from emperors, kings and genocidal dominance hierarchy territorial alpha male chimps have been superseded, even as they don't realize it, not by boring old self-dealing parliamentary democracy as in Francis Fukuyama's "End of History", but by the externality of the peer to peer, node to node, supra-somatic intelligence enabled by Cyberspace in general and mobile Cyberspace in particular.

The NSA, GCSB, GCHQ, 5-eyes, KGB/replacement and equivalents in China are anachronisms. They think they are keeping the serfs in line to maintain the stability of the realms as temporally and temporarily defined, but they are moving from being the host to being the parasite. There is no particular reason why we should want them clipping the ticket or giving permission for us to swap bitcoin or some other instrument for something we want to buy. But the Federal Reserve et al will not quietly give up their geese laying $trillions of golden eggs. Nor will they kill it and eat it as in Zimbabwe.

Shift happens,
