Its not only Dawkins or Darwin that have it right, going back to the dawning Humanist medieval scholars who also started to get it right again. Why the Renaissance is regarded as a "flowering" of the human intellect as those classics were rediscovered & studied with such great reverence. One of the chief reasons was this great revelation, there was no break between the "pagan" & the Christian world. What appeared then to the enlightened minds, started to look upon all as one great continuum or divine human epic, Rome lasted 1000yrs, you don't just ignore something like this.

And an actual World epic as well, in Evolutionary terms mirrors this, which places those that had the eyes to see, the minds to comprehend at a far greater advnatage to see more beyond, adventure farther & peer to a more infinite world than even the religion/god cults could concieve. This is bummy's & the current crops of nimrod evangelicals greatest fear, the secular world is superior in this larger view, which makes it more creative, productive, reasoned & truely compassionate.

There's was always the cry of "non plus ultra", or not more beyond, that sure hasn't stopped some of us. Now bummys last ineffectual card to play is the fear of the judgement in the after life, which is rather strange for a human that spends all his time being judgemental, but thats all ancient pagan belief anyways, we should remind him.

Of course Dawkin's is "right" when sitting next to a creationist or ID jugheads (although as I've said, I LIKE the "term" Intelligent Design) who have brought little to nothing to the science of evolution. To the extent that the ID crowd helps spur new ideas, even if they have none themselves I give them credit. That said, I don't know that they have done that to any meaningful extent.

But Dawkins is "wrong" about several things that he defends quite vigorously... so from that standpoint I don't know that the guy is incorrect.

As for Dawkins, he is crusader like the creationists... in that vein he has done a lot of good in popularizing "evolution" as opposed to "creationism". But he is drawn like a moth to the (anti)flame of ignorance of the religionists... he clearly hasn't spent enough time staying caught up on the science.
