Governments are well known for their ability to pick new technologies? We just had a dimwit pres and legislature improve our healthcare system. That did not go so good. Neither did Solyndra, Fisker or anything else the government chooses as the next big solution... How is our US or Japanese government doing with Thorium reactors?

Yes, governments are not where to look. Your next door hillbilly neighbor has better ideas than your average government.

Do you think Thorium is a viable source of energy? It is vetted, proven, etc. and still not used. How many years of research are behind Thorium?
