Cypress Minerals Corp -

Post says mining trio investigated for Kubla Khan rumours

Cypress Minerals Corp CYPShares issued 139707811997-12-09 close $0.29Wednesday Dec 10 1997See Donner Minerals Ltd (DML) In the News The Financial Post reports in its banner front page headline, "Mining Trio Investigated," in its Wednesday edition that the Alberta and Vancouver stock exchanges have launched probes as Donner Minerals, Northern Abitibi Mining and Cypress Minerals shares take a wild ride on rumours of a big find near Voisey's Bay. Regulators halted trading in Donner and Northern Abitibi on Friday after trading volumes leaped before the release of news about drilling activity. The prices of Donner and Northern Abitibi shares doubled after trading resumed on Monday following the distribution of a news release, then plummeted on massive volumes on Tuesday. Tim Daly, v-p of market surveillance at the ASE, said ASE staff are searching the Internet for a source for Friday's rumours of a big nickel find on the companies' claims. The Techstocks.com Web page was active on Friday with discussions about the drilling. Rory O'Byrne, a Donner spokesman, insisted no one at the company leaked news about the find. He says if it was a normal Howe Street group, you would have heard people on top of the building screaming that it is the next Kubla Khan. I see DML and Nai are firming up again.
Now wouldn't it be interesting if we all had the power we are accused of having that all one had to do was get on SI start a rumour and a stock would soar. Great idea the brokers would all be broke and us posters would be driving the fancy cars and yachts. Hey I could trade in my old pick up and canoe for something fancier.
The internet for the first time in history has allowed investors to exchange information and ideas freely. People are learning a whole lot more about geology, mining and the stock market. No doubt this is a threat to some of the powers that be because investors can campare notes, ideas. what they are being told, etc. To me thhat is the real story here, The internet and its many posters are uncovering dubious practises and making them public so the establishment investigates us....... (If your house got robbed would the police look for the crook or investigate you.....)
All I can say is LONG LIVE THE INTERNET and the freedom of its posters.
