What are you doddering on about now? I attribute *most all of christianity* to the pagan philosophers along with *absolutely all of judaism* with the *Persian & Babylonian* encounters, nothing has changed and maintained that here from the beginning. What ever the religious garb , that expanded idea of God evolves as the human urban centers the greater maturation of empires formed, men ha moe time to contemplate the order of life. Nothing was so epic than that height of detailed thought passed on & taught by the Greeks and as we find with those discoveries in early Renaissance We are always seeing an evolutionary transmission & preservation of such body of thought & cultural memes from one civilization or cultural milieu to the next. Those devotional feelings were no less than yours, some choose to live in peaceful in monasteries, communal retreats or groups, there has always been that tendency between those who choose the pastoral over the more active political urban centered milieu that arose as mankind's busy populations grew. This has been going 1000's of year after Moses story was even concieved, this goes all the way back to the original indo/persian god "Mitra" from which Judaism gets its covenant idea. Angels & demons, after life, monotheism, ritual fires, temples, day of judgement, resuurection, prophets & messiahs,. etc etc. (and not the Mithraism of much later Roman, were talking 14 centuries before)
