I'm using it in the sense of actually being able to hold two conflicting ideas internally at the same time and not feel the need to go to the psychologically consistency referenced by Freely Hovering. I don't know if I am using the term in a psychologically correct way, but IMHO lawyers do this all the time. If they didn't they'd go crazy.

We tend not to think in terms of "absolutes", but in "arguments". I agree that is not how most people think.
