Greg, do you or anyone else have any idea what will happen if a large number of miners "close out their forward gold sales" as noted below in the quote from the link you posted from the Australian Financial Review. I would assume that the effect will be to reduce the supply dramatically and at the same time produce a windfall one time profit for the mine operator.

"Goldfields Kalgoorlie Ltd announcing it would reduce the life of its Paddington mine in Western Australia and close out much of its forward gold sales."
