from the WSJ ... New York regulators " pressed Oxford to add $164 million to its reserves on top of a similar demand last month that Oxford add $87.9 million. Oxford will also add $36 million to reserves required in New Jersey and Connecticut, bringing its total to $1 billion. "

My take is that it's reserves were already about $700 million BEFORE the new additions, and that when Wiggins says the company still has $500 million in equity after allowing for the new charges, he's taken into acount the $1 billion in reserves. Which implies $1.5 billion in total assets before reserves. Am I missing something?
