I use the 3mg sublingual melatonin many nights but mostly get the extra sleep boost from 400mg Magnesium.

I get what I get. Weed is the best sleeper ever. I avoid making coffee after 10PM cuz it's a diuretic. Both my father and I could finish a cup and go to sleep, but my cup (24 oz) is bigger than his. Coffee uptake is seasonal; 2 cups in the summer and 4 or 5 today.
