There's only 3 issues that I care for... well most people have a lot more issues they care about... maybe that's why your silly statement that you would like to have George Bush back in charge personally, it doesn't really bother me that the govt can track my cell-phone

Bush started 2, count them, 2, stupid wars. While Obama hasn't totally ended them, he has not started any new ones- could you be sanguine that another repub wouldn't have started more wars? I certainly wasn't sure about that. Secondly, the Supreme Court really matters to me- and Obama's judicial picks are infinitely better than any republicans would have been. And quite a few law professors who voted for him are still happy with him. washingtonmonthly.com Obama isn't perfect, but he's much better than anything from the right- for me. Maybe your needs differ spectacularly- in which case, you are very different from all the mainstream dems I know.

It is hard to measure Obama because he also had to contend with unprecedented racism and a totally nuts Republican party. As Bentway said: he had to provide a dignified example as the first black president and he has done that in spades. He could not come off as the angry black man. And the Republican's have been looking for any reason to bring him down. As much as I harp on an outside game, I am cognizant of the fact that had he run an outside game, it would have given the pubs a huge target to shoot at. He had a tricky situation made much trickier by his being black and he has negotiated it quite well. I do hope you can see how brain dead and dangerous the Republican's are. God forbid if they ever get control of the presidency again. Just listen to them they cannot grasp the simplest of concepts. And look at the fascist supreme court the pubs gave us. Obama's appointments were good ones. And sane.
