Well, tendency to religiosity is universal, a by product of 4bil yrs leading up to this consciousness we think we are. The instinct to survive & the fear of death, this business of sentience naturally wants to see its own continuance so heavens & hells in the after life are imagined . But don't intuit Buddha himself actually saw himself as immortal anymore than Eienstein did. Religion is about living in accord with these divined laws, in obeying such some great harmony unfolds, heaven revealed, bounty is bestowed, sickness & death thwarted, enemies vanquished, eternal life granted, promise land is found so forth & so on. In a very real way, religion is just more primitive forms of science which itself is all about laws, there is no separation, why we see this gradual transposing from religion to science now, as we educate our minds to the greater polymath realms.
