I go with the Thomas Gospel that says the kingdom of heaven is spread upon the earth but men do not see., your Father in Heaven orthodoxy is fine if you like, matter of semantics, just be completely aware its totally pagan in its origins.

Its much like finding a great master teacher in your life, a wonderful mentor and they do exist, one of the supreme fortunate things one can find in life are those mentors that may not be your mother or father that open up your view of things (life). This where the priesthoods & monk systems were vital, they had all the access to the latin volumes of knowledge. Farmers in Medieval ages used to build monk shelters just the outside hope of marrying his daughter off to one staying for few days, lol, (true) .

Learning the right skills, from the right masters is highly valuable to your success & your survival, though not always do we have access . In nature you find this with sea otters who teach their young how to break open clam shells with rocks, these skills have to be taught, generation to generation. Same for migrating birds, you learn or you die.etc. So the metaphor for God the Father is fine, just make sure you are learning then, not just believing. Having faith in itself could be some kind of test & produce strength, of course, its not the only way, many paths to the Buddha.

There are fathers & mothers on earth that could rival any God above thats for sure, i have met them, they too would die for their children.
