I think what everyone, maybe except the GMO companies, miss, is that, once a GMO plant is out there, it's making seed and making pollen. There have already been cases of GMO crops growing where the farmer hadn't bought any GMO seeds.

I'm not sure where I am on this issue, since I'm a big supporter of science, and we've been "selectively breeding" to achieve genetic modification since we began agriculture. GMO techniques go far beyond this far faster, incorporating genes that were never naturally in any plant. It makes me nervous to have us futzing with our food supplies like this, but for me, the jury is still out. It may make it easier for poor subsistence farmers to survive.
