Travesty of Justice: Admitted rapist and teacher at Ossining High School John Azabache set for NO PRISON time for raping female student twice on his wedding day

This bum belongs in a prison cell!

We have an epidemic in this country of teachers having sex with students that I document on this blog almost on a daily basis. It’s happening across the country and here is an example of a teacher who admitted a girl less than 17 years old and is getting ready not to face any prison time for it. This is outrageous and it reflects very poorly on hom state of New York where this is taking place.
Journal News reports a former Ossining High School math teacher is expected to be spared prison time at his sentencing Thursday, nearly five months after, on the day of his wedding, he was arrested and accused of raping a 16-year-old girl twice between March and July.

John Azabache admitted in Westchester County Court in White Plains in September that he raped the girl, sparing him the prospect of several years in prison. The disgraced teacher from Port Chester pleaded guilty then to third-degree rape, a felony, under a plea agreement with prosecutors.

His lawyer said then that the plea was a selfless act committed by a stand-up guy.
“He chose to take full responsibility,” his lawyer, Tony Castro, said. “He’s not a bad guy. He’s apologized to the people who were affected by this incident. He just doesn’t want to draw this out. He didn’t want to put anyone through the heartache of going through a trial.”

Azabache, 31, was charged with two counts of third-degree rape, felonies punishable by up to four years in state prison each.

The girl, a student at the high school, could not legally consent because she is under 17. The girl’s parents reported the allegations to police July 10, prompting an investigation that led to the teacher’s arrest July 12, the day he was supposed to marry a 23-year-old White Plains woman.

In September, he admitted to one instance of statutory rape. He has been ordered to stay away from the student and his not-to-be bride.

Azabache has also been barred from school grounds.
