The company I use is located in Philadelphia, PA. They are a small company and give service you can't beat. You can always get through.

From your member profile, it looks like you are from CA and I don't know if they have a toll-free number (I don't think they do). Let me know if you're still interested. The techs are coming back some. I don't expect any major recovery, but who knows?

I may go short again if a good ralley results.

I do use some indicators. I follow the techs to see what they are doing . They have a lot of currency exposure and exposure to asia. I also use Yahoo quotes to follow the international markets. If they do poorly overnight, and the market has just had a run-up, I go short before the regulare s&p opens. My brokerage does that using Globex (I can call him anytime I want, but I try not to call before 6 AM or after 11PM).

Not many people are trading s&p's around 6:30AM, but that is often when I take a position.

Anyway, sorry you did not get filled. With limit orders that happens sometimes. If you tried to cut it that close to getting an order NOT filled for a million dollars, you probably couldn't do it . . .

Anyway, more opportunities will come. We just have to wait for them to come :o)

Dec s&p 968.00

I decided to go short again @ 967.10. This market hasn't rallied yet, so I guess it wants to go lower. I probably will only risk 3-4 pts against me in order to make sure I have a good day.

Here's part of my reasoning for still being short. If you were a fund manager would you want to be long overnight, wondering how asia will react to today's market activity? If the US market rallies and has a strong finish, then the foreign markets aren't such a concern. However, with US international company's profits in question, I don't think today is very likely to be a strong day. Plus, the manager's confidence is probably shaken after today's, appparently, strong sell-off. This market had a nice run-up, they must realize it could fall another 20pts and not even be a big deal. Why risk holding overnight? Hence, US markets end at low for the day which spills over into selling in the overseas markets which, in turn, gives fund managers at least a bad morning.
