Brad:

------The emotional (ego-driven) character is emphasized in the options game, where the tremendous leverage amplifies greed, and the looming expirations magnify fear.

Leverage magnifies, perhaps by an exponential factor, greed and fear both.
In an extended (multi-months long) movement, it has the capability to punish far more than it can reward.
In the broad market, when the bull finally dies and the bear reigns supreme, as in the classic example of '29, leverage will prove to be the fulcrum for the unseating lever.
