RESEARCH ALERT - Lucent outperform reiterated Reuters Story - December 10, 1997 10:28 %ELI %US %HOT %RCH LU V%REUTER P%RTR NEW YORK, Dec 10 (Reuters) - Lehman Brothers analyst Tim Luke said he reiterated an outperform rating on Lucent Technologies Inc . -- said hosted a conference call with investors to review the progress of Lucent's recent merger with Octel Communications. -- said Bob Kohn, president of the Octel Messaging Division, outlined a "positive outlook" for the expanded messaging unit. -- said Lucent reaffirmed it expects to generate annual revenue growth in a range of about 20 percent from its messaging unit. -- Lehman said it believes the "seasonally robust" 1998 first quarter is "tracking well" for Lucent. -- said continues to be encouraged by indications of strengthening visibility in a range of business segments. -- set price target of $95. -- shares of Lucent lost 7/8 to 79-5/16.
