Talked to Larry McLean from Samex (remember them!) last night. He's very excited about their zinc/silver targets in the Santa Isabel system. They now have some money in the bank and will start a six hole drill program in Jan. They also expect to attract some more backing at that time as well. He compared Samex' zinc/silver prospects to a company also in Bolivia which trades on the American stock exchange (I forgot the name but they are backed by George Soros).
RESPONSE: Haven't forgotten about SXG, but they have been quiet this year. We followed SXG from $2.75, up to over $7 and back under $2, before we replaced them on our lists. Earlier this year we had two concerns with SXG. They needed financing and their main backer was out of it. This backer through various pp's also had other problems and any SXG upside, at that time, would probably be met with their selling. I don't know if this problem has been dealt with yet. However, at least their warrants should have expired by now. This potential concern, with lack of funds in a bad market and a share price then still over $1, and no drilling activity, pointed to a bad year for SXG's share price.
We did notice their pp's over the past few months and would like to see them get back to drilling in 1998. They do have potentially good properties, which was our attraction to SXG in the first place.
