I was talking to old friends while in SB county a few months ago and they were blown away by the halibut fishing off Gaviota. They've been fishing there 45 years and have never seen such enormous quantities of fish. They were showing me pictures of their catches and it was unbelievable. So many halibut they were just throwing lines in and getting hit.
